Saarinen's TWA Terminal

Recently we were commissioned by MCR/Morse Development to supply 26 Restored original Saarinen Executive Chairs help furnish the office/showcase of the TWA Flight Center hotel and conference center at the World Financial Center in downtown Manhattan. The complex slated for completion in 2019 will occupy the original TWA terminal at JFK.  The vintage chairs were restored in our workroom in Connecticut using fabric from our own collection. The color inspiration came from the blue color used in much of the original TWA advertising. The chairs were sourced from warehouses containing vintage chairs dating back to the 1950's that were used by IBM, Zerox, and Met Life. The fact that these chairs have such timeless design is a tribute to Eero Saarinen's architectural and artistic talent. It's the respect of the "art" of design that draws us to these products and the satisfaction of restoring and refining these gems to their original beauty.
